how do you choose your next book?

  1. it has a beautiful cover
  2. the author's name is awesome, and includes an X
  3. the blurb includes the following: he [that's marcelo] learns about competition and jealousy, anger and desire. but it's a picture he finds in a file - a picture of a girl with half a face - that truly connects him with the real world: its suffering, its injustice, and what he can do to fight.

  2. I LOVE that cover. It reminds me of Jan Pienkowski's beautiful illustrations in Joan Aiken's 'Necklace of Raindrops' - a book that constantly inspires me as do Jan's silhouette-style pictures. In fact it was Jan's pictures along with the cover of Nette Hilton's 'The Innocents' that I gave to the cover designer of Angel Creek and said 'Something like this, please!'
